Nine Days in Eindhoven, Capital of Design

Held annually in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, the Dutch Design Week, or DDW for short, is a renowned event that showcases the latest trends and innovations in design. Participating in this design event has been a dream of ours since we first enrolled in the field of design, and in 2023 that dream came true. WasteBase’s presence at DDW proved to be an enriching experience, providing us with great opportunities to connect with industry leaders, showcase our platform, and engage with a diverse audience passionate about design and sustainability.

One of the highlights of our time at DDW was the opportunity to present WasteBase to a wide range of attendees, including designers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and policy makers. We received an overwhelmingly positive response to our platform, with many expressing interest in working with us to explore new ways to reuse residual materials.

Throughout the event, we had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with industry experts and thought leaders about the importance of incorporating circular economy principles into design. These conversations reaffirmed our commitment to driving positive change and fostering collaboration within the design community.

In addition, we are thrilled to announce that WasteBase had the honor of welcoming Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands to our booth during DDW. Her Majesty’s visit underscored the importance of our mission to promote sustainability and circular design practices in the Netherlands and beyond.

DDW also served as a valuable lead-generation opportunity. We were pleased to connect with numerous potential partners and clients who expressed a keen interest in using WasteBase to source sustainable materials for their projects.

Looking ahead, we are excited to build on the momentum generated during Dutch Design Week and continue to expand WasteBase’s reach and impact. With a growing community of passionate designers, manufacturers and sustainability advocates behind us, we are confident in our ability to drive positive change and create a more sustainable future through design.
